Former Miami Hurricanes football players got their wish Monday when the University of Miami announced two legendary Canes would be included on their search advisory committee in finding the next head football coach.
Jon Vilma (2000-03) and Vinny Testaverde (1983-86) are on the committee representing former players, joining Board of Trustees members Hilarie Bass, David Epstein and Steve Saiontz, and Deputy Director of Athletics Jennifer Strawley.
Athletic Director Blake James also announced search firm Korn Ferry would be on board as well as Canes football searches for the man to lead them back to college football glory.
“We are well underway in our search process,” James said, “and, as expected, there is already a tremendous amount of interest in The U. Additionally, we are reaching out to a number of UM constituencies to engage in dialogue and to hear their thoughts and vision. We will work diligently to find a great fit for Miami and I want to thank in advance the members of the advisory committee for their dedication to our University.”
